RACE NIGHT THE REGENCY WESTON-SUPER-MARE 7th JULY 2018

Another great night at The Regency. Thank you to all who supported this event. As usual, this was a challenging evening, trying to win on the horses, some did and some didn’t but lots of fun as usual. A very BIG thank you again to Mark, Tom, Julie and Steve for all their hard work behind the bar and for making the gang so welcome.

RED ADMIRAL FUNDRAISER 12TH MAY 2018

On Saturday 12th May 2018 the Staff at the Red Admiral Pub, Alexander Parade, Weston-super-Mare held a fundraiser in memory of our friend and volunteer Marie, who passed away on 18th October 2017 after a short illness. It would have been Marie’s 65th birthday on 12th May 2018. We all still miss her fun, laughter and company.

I want to say a big Thank you to all the staff and customers at The Red for their kindness, generosity and continued support towards EnergEyes. I would also like to say a big Thank You to Louise, Jo and Emma, Marie’s daughters, for continuing to support EnergEyes.

MAYOR’S CHOSEN CHARITY 2017-2018

In May 2017 I had a phone call from the Mayor’s Civic Officer informing me that EnergEyes was one of the chosen charities of the new Mayor Jos Holder. What a great honour for our humble charity!

In May this year I was invited along to the Mayor’s Parlour to receive a cheque. This money will go a long way towards funding future activities and I want to say a big Thank You to the Mayor for all her hard work over the past year and an even bigger Thank You for choosing EnergEyes.

FREEMASON’S PRESENTATION SATURDAY 23RD SPETEMBER 2017 MASONIC HALL TIVOLI LANE WESTON-SUPER-MARE

EnergEyes were invited to the above event in order to be presented with a cheque from the Birnbeck Freemasons. The members and volunteers who supported us enjoyed a very profitable day; not just financially. With the help of friends I was able to present a video and slide show depicting what EnergEyes have enjoyed over the last four years. Members of the public and several Freemasons showed a great deal of interest in our charity and were amazed by what the members participate in and how much fun they have. This presentation promoted very clearly that having a disability does NOT prevent anyone from taking part in ANY event if the correct safety provisions and assistance are in place. Thank you for all who supported us on the day.

Also a BIG thank you once again to Tom, Mark, Julia and the lovely staff at The Regency Inn. Without your kindness none of this would be possible. It was a great night of fun with winners and losers and horse buyers galore. I’ve still not seen anyone go home with their horse……………………….!

See you all at our Casino Night on Saturday, 30th April at The Royal Hotel. This is a first for EnergEyes and I know it will be lots of fun, again. In fact, every event we hold is lots, and lots of fun.

Another very successful fund raising event.

What a beautiful day weather wise for our annual sea front “teddy tombola”. A BIG thank you to Spud for charming the public into buying the tickets. He could sell sand to the Arabs but I am so glad he is raising funds for EnergEyes! We raised £100 more than last year, however we did have 200 teddies. Thank you to all members and volunteers who turned up on the day to make this event so successful and to the general public for supporting our charity.

A very successful day. A BIG thank youto all the members and volunteers who gave their time on the day.

The above event was very successful, thanks to all the kind donations of “teddies” for our Teddy Tombola. A big “Thank You” goes to all the members, volunteers and friends who attended on the day. Also to Jayne Coopey, a staunch member of EnergEyes, who bought, wrapped and organised our “Lucky Dip”. Thank you so much Jayne. I couldn’t have managed without your help and support. We were blessed with a day sunny day, which really helped draw the “punters”. There are a few photos on our web page under the Photo link.

EnergEyes has joined Just Giving. You can find them at www.justgiving.com/energeyes.

If you need any help phone Just Giving on 0845 078 2063 and Option 1 for donation and fundraising support.

Ceri Davis, Russ Nickells’ daughter, is running (and maybe walking a bit!) in the Bristol 10K for us. Follow the link and make Russ very proud, plus raising money for our charity. Your donation is gift aided, if you pay UK Tax.

Recycle your used cartridges – HP, Dell, Lexmark, Canon, Samsung, Neopost and Brother. Please don’t send Epson or Kodak cartridges!

Each unwanted recycled cartridge you send raises £1 for EnergEyes. I have 80 freepost envelopes in which to place your used cartridges – maximum 5 in an envelope. All you have to do is peel the strip from the top of the envelope, seal and place in a post box.

Mobile Phones – same as above please except these can no longer be sent through the post in the envelopes – I need to fill a box of 25 and I will arrange their collection.

Start saving your phones and used cartridges, help the environment and our charity. Easy!

Thanks, Aileen
